Update about Opening 2020: Seasonal Campers
Update about Opening 2020: April 2, 2020
To our Valued Seasonal Campers~
We know have been anxiously waiting an update from us since Governor Pritzker extended the “Stay at Home” order through April 30th. Some of our campers have contacted us wondering what harm would it be if they entered the campground to check on their trailer and clean their lot? The problem is, this mandate to “Stay at Home” is an ORDER, and campgrounds in Illinois are not included on the essential business list, therefore we have to stay closed to our seasonal campers.
We can share that our national and state campground owners’ organizations are both working to have our status changed to “essential” in Illinois. We are monitoring both organizations and will see where these conversations lead. If anything changes, obviously you’ll be the first ones we let know!
Our campers’ and staffs’ safety remain our top priority. That priority will continue to guide us as we make decisions over the next months, even as the restrictions are lifted. We must do our part to help contain the COVID-19 virus. This is your happy place….your home away from home….we want those memories to continue.
If you are a seasonal (snowbirds) who use Fish Lake as your actual temporary residence, and plan to arrive before May1st, please reach out to us by phone at 847-546-2228 or email at camping@fishlakebeach.com.
We have received many encouraging notes and calls from our campers over the last few weeks. Thank you, your warm words of appreciation and understanding mean a great deal to us. This is an unprecedented situation and we are grateful for your patience. We know it’s not easy, but this will pass, and we all have the opportunity to help make it happen sooner than later.
Keep safe, be healthy….till we meet again! YC, Randy, Desiree, Christi and the Fish Lake Beach Staff
